Why this blog?
My husband and I are just starting the house buying process which will mean that we can FINALLY, after years of rentals, decorate as we wish. In that spirit, I've begun collecting ideas and inspirations for my own use and thought that, maybe, there might be someone out there who likes the same thing.
I love the eccentricities and the analogue mechanics of the steampunk world but I just don't like standard victorian decor. So it was a wonderful moment when I realized that my beloved Arts and Crafts style actually got it's start back during the victorian era and would have been quite familiar to Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. So with that I've taken to try and marry the two styles, creating my own mix of Arts and Crafts and Steampunk design.
What a fantastic idea - Jen over at EPBOT (and the more famous and day-brightening Cake Wrecks) has a tutorial on how to create lovely domed buttons out of pennies. Such a neat idea.
